KOTOR was built around a simple idea: the best automotive events aren't just about what happens at the finish line — they're about everything that happens along the way.
KOTOR brings together racers, car enthusiasts, off-roaders, families, friends and gearheads from all walks of life for events built around driving, competition, adventure and camaraderie.
King of the Open Road
It started with King of the Open Road, a different kind of drag racing experience combining a 200+ mile scenic road trip with drag racing, roll racing, car shows and the opportunity to spend a weekend with people who share the same passion for cars.
Instead of unloading a race car from a trailer and heading straight to the starting line, KOTOR encourages participants to get out on the road and actually drive their machines. Racers and cruisers travel backroads, visit unique destinations and collect their unique KOTOR token along the way before returning for the competition.
The cruise isn't just something that happens before the race — it's part of the challenge and part of what makes KOTOR, KOTOR.
King of the Off Road
That same philosophy eventually left the pavement.
King of the Off Road takes the KOTOR experience into an entirely different environment, bringing together Jeeps, trucks, SUVs, side-by-sides and other capable off-road vehicles for a multi-day adventure across hundreds of miles.
Participants travel from park to park under their own power, tackle trails ranging from beginner-friendly terrain to serious obstacles, collect tokens along the way and experience some of the best off-roading the region has to offer.
The objective isn't simply to conquer the hardest trail. It's to complete the journey, challenge yourself and your vehicle, help the people around you and come home with stories worth telling.

Whether we're lining up at the drag strip, cruising a backroad, climbing a rocky trail or sitting around at the end of a long day talking about everything that broke along the way, the heart of KOTOR has always been the people.
These events bring together experienced racers and first-time participants, purpose-built machines and everyday vehicles, competitors and spectators.
